The Alianza Prophecy

Almost every alpaca breeder knows the great Hemingway. Someday he will have a successor. Could this young male be the one to fulfill The Alianza Prophecy? I wouldn't have named him so if I didn't think it was possible. Everyone thinks their own alpacas are the best, so I won't bother to tell you why I think this handsome macho will be the next Hemingway. Come and decide for yourself. Is The Alianza Prophecy the heir to the Hemingway throne? There are many other great contenders out there already. His father Predictor is one of them. I think Prophecy will surpass his father. But don't wait too long to check him out. His fleece just won the purple banner for Judge's Choice at the ABWNY show, out of 80 fleeces entered! Prophecy has been settling females since of 2006. His current stud fee is only $1000. After his cria arrive and prove his worth, this fee will certainly go up, so call now.

This is what I expect Prophecy can do for your breeding program.

He and his dam PPPeruvian Dorsett are broader through the chest than most alpacas, giving them a very square, compact and robust appearance. If you ever wanted to know what the phrase “well sprung through the ribs” meant, here is the perfect example. This is a very healthy and advantageous conformational trait and I expect that he can pass it on to your hembra’s cria.

In the fiber department here are Prophecy’s advantages. He has a very low percentage of guard hair throughout his fleece. Even in the dead of winter you will not see the characteristics “halo” that many alpacas have. His fleece is also very fine and with a long staple length and a beautiful crimp structure. I think Ian Watt would tell you that the long staple length is the best of these traits, and that it is something I should be breeding for because ultimately it is a sign of density and fineness together. It sure is on Prophecy, and I expect it will be on his offspring as well. As yet I have no crias on the ground to prove it, and I have been preaching for years that phenotypic selection is not a very accurate way to choose herdsires. In other words, there is no guarantee that he will pass this on. In fairness to my customers, I offer stud services now at a low introductory rate. Once he has been proven by progeny testing, I feel I will be justified in raising his fee. If you want to get a bargain by gambling on his ability to pass this on, then call now. If you prefer to breed to a well proven male, go back and look at another of my Full Alianza herdsires, Maple Brook Bravado, who already has over thirty offspring registered.
